After a slow start, Blanche has become a big fan of her Mooncup. For those who don’t know, the Mooncup is reusuable silicon cup that you put in your vagina to collect the blood from your period. Using a Mooncup means not having to use tampons, which end up in landfills, incinerators or toilets.

Here’s Blanche in her own words:

“Mooncups are very practical and easy to use after a few trys. They’re like tampons; at the start it’s a bit scary but with practice it’s fine. It comes in various sizes. My strong recommendation is to cut off the part that sticks out, then it’s much more comfortable. A colleague at school taught me how to do that!”

Blanche also always has a knicker protector or menstrual pad with her in case of need. This slips neatly inside her panties. After use, she rinces it in lukewarm water and then puts it in the washing machine with the rest of the washing. Easy peasy.
