There are many reasons for reducing our consumption of meat. The livestock industry is estimated to produce 20% of global carbon emissions. Eating a lot of meat, especially poor quality meat, is linked with cancer and other diseases. All livestock businesses are responsible for cruelty towards animals.

But here’s another good reason to go vegan – it’s delicious! Paris, where we live when we’re not at the farm, is currently in the midst of a remarkable boom in vegan cafes and restaurants. Remarkable, because, well, this is France, home of French cuisine and all that.

We recently went to a family event and the caterer provided vegan options, lots of them. It was hilarious to see 40 well-heeled Parisians telling each other that vegan food is surprisingly good!

The best website for vegan restaurants in most countries is Happy Cow.
